An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join a growing and supportive organisation within the care sector. This is a key position within the finance team, offering variety, responsibility and the chance to contribute to process improvements across multiple sites.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Team, the Accounts Payable Senior will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, reconciliations and payments, while maintaining strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. You will work closely with Financial Administrators across various sites to ensure the smooth running of the accounts payable function.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving invoice and purchase order queries
- Processing monthly expenses, Equals card and corporate card transactions including reconciliations
- Supporting intercompany recharges and journal postings
- Managing end to end accounts payable processes including supplier set up, invoice approvals and payment runs
- Monitoring AP ageing reports and completing regular supplier statement reconciliations
- Supporting the monitoring and clearance of suspense accounts
- Maintaining accurate vendor records and processing checks
- Handling supplier queries via phone and email
- Managing the Accounts Payable inbox
- Assisting with audits and ensuring compliance with financial policies and internal controls
- Supporting continuous improvement within the AP function
- Meeting KPIs and targets set by management
About You
- AAT Level 3 qualified or equivalent
- Proven experience within an Accounts Payable or similar finance role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in accounting software with strong Excel skills
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
