The Role:

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Group Finance Manager in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of trial balances for assigned entities.
  • Assisting the Group Finance Manager with accounting for property and management entities.
  • Analysing financial data and posting month-end journals.
  • Reviewing issues and overspends at the home level.
  • Managing accruals, prepayments, fixed assets register, and full balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Providing general accounts support and responding to ad hoc requests.
  • Reviewing the accuracy and completeness of invoices.
  • Reconciling invoices between accounting systems.
  • Reviewing cash books and receipts.
  • Preparing weekly Flash Reporting.
  • Reviewing invoice postings and ensuring proper coding.
  • Managing payment allocations and cash book updates.
  • Preparing payment runs and reconciling corporate card transactions.
  • Assisting with payroll administration and resolving related queries.
  • Processing payroll and relevant journals.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
