The European Accounting and Controlling Department is responsible for managing the controlling function of the group across multiple locations, delivering the management and consolidated reporting activities for Europe. 

The role of the European Financial Reporting Manager is to oversee the pan European month-end close, the year-end financial reporting processes and support the Hyperion reporting system.

Providing clear central communications and actively promoting compliance across the region. The role will work closely with all European entity controllers, the Finance & Procurement centre and the systems teams to ensure smooth event processes and workflows.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Event Planning - creating and building the European Actuals events timetable; ensuring Hyperion systems are set up accordingly to ensure successful completion.
  • Month End Reporting - oversee the European Actuals reporting to ensure submission and corrections made within deadlines, and data integrity issues addressed. 
  • Year-End Reporting - manage the update, distribution, and collation of the completed year-end IFRS workbooks for all Pan-E entities; oversea the statutory financial statements preparation process; manage the annual SOX and Financial Audits on a Pan-E level.
  • Pan-E Accounting - develop a Pan-E accounting review process; monitor and improve compliance with accounting policies; keep updated on regulatory changes including IFRS standards

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Qualified accountant – CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Experience in working within a Pan-European corporate environment.
  • Ability to build good relationships and credibility within the business to present data conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders of all levels. 
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Good analytical skills and data management to review data and minimise errors, ensuring high levels of accuracy to provide qualified information to others.
  • Capable of balancing differing priorities to meet deadlines.

 Desirable

  • SAP/Business Objects Financial Consolidation/Hyperion planning & HFM experience are highly desirable.
