Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Section Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global organisation as an FP&A Section Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial insight, driving profitability, and ensuring accuracy across budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
This role will see you managing reporting and analysis for a major European business division, providing financial expertise, insight, and decision support to senior stakeholders. You’ll also lead and develop a small team, acting as a key link between Finance, Operations, and Business Planning.
The Role
As FP&A Section Manager, you will be responsible for:

Delivering accurate monthly results, forecasts, and insightful performance analysis.

Supporting budgeting processes, including scenario modelling, variance analysis, and balance sheet forecasting.

Partnering with senior business stakeholders to highlight risks, opportunities, and profit improvement initiatives.

Leading the production and review of management reporting packs and performance KPIs.

Providing financial expertise for business projects, investment decisions, and operational planning.

Managing, developing, and motivating one direct report.

Supporting the development of systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, automation, and forecasting accuracy.

Working closely with wider European finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of consolidated reporting.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).

Proven experience in financial planning & analysis, management reporting, and budgeting.

Strong Excel and financial systems skills (SAP/ERP and BI tools highly desirable).

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financials to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

A proven record of process improvement in FP&A or management reporting.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Previous experience managing or mentoring team members.

A forward-thinking mindset, curious about how technology (e.g. BI, automation, AI) can improve FP&A activities.

Some experience working in a multinational or European-wide business context would be advantageous.
