Practice Management Accountant

Are you a confident, hands-on management accountant with practice experience and a passion for working with creative, media, and entertainment clients? You’ll manage a varied portfolio, take ownership of your work, and enjoy a mix of autonomy and team support in a hybrid-working environment.
2) The Role
You’ll manage 10–20 clients across media, entertainment, and creative industries, providing bookkeeping, reporting, and client advisory services. You’ll act as a key contact and trusted finance partner—ensuring deadlines are met, processes are smooth, and clients feel supported.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing a portfolio of SME and creative sector clients

Timely and accurate bookkeeping

Monthly reporting and production of management accounts

Cash flow management and forecasting
-
VAT return preparation and submission
-
Bank reconciliations, purchase and sales ledger oversight

Credit control and financial admin
-
Using Xero and QuickBooks (training provided if needed)

Liaising with clients, managers, and business reps
-
Supporting and training junior staff
-
Ad hoc financial tasks as required by clients or partners
You’ll work closely with senior staff and have exposure to more complex assignments as your experience grows.

You’re a proactive and personable accountant who thrives in a client-facing, fast-paced role. You enjoy working across multiple projects and delivering real value to clients.
You will bring:

Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice (essential)

Strong understanding of management accounts, bookkeeping & VAT

Working knowledge of Xero (QuickBooks and Dext a plus)

Ability to manage client portfolios independently

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Effective communication skills—verbal and written

A collaborative mindset with a willingness to help colleagues

Interest in working with clients in the media/entertainment sector
