Purchase Ledger & Finance Assistant

Want to work as a Purchase Ledger & Finance Assistant for an award-winning international manufacturer based in Sutton, Surrey?  Reporting to the FD this opportunity is a full-time permanent role with the option of hybrid working.

The ideal Purchase Ledger & Finance Assistant candidate must have a good eye for detail and also able to undertake other tasks within the Finance department.  They will be part of a small busy Finance team where teamwork and providing support is crucial.  We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and willingness to take on new tasks. The candidate will need to be confident using ERP systems in terms of Purchase Ledger and good excel skills.

Key Responsibilities of the Purchase Ledger & Finance Assistant include, but not limited to:

Purchase Ledger Responsibility :

  • Coding invoices
  • Posting invoices
  • Raising payments
  • Dealing with queries
  • Dealing with Direct Debits and ensuring payments are correct
  • Matching stock to invoices
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Responsible for month end purchase ledger close

Banking :

  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Posting payments
  • Daily update of weekly cash flow forecast and agreeing with Head of Finance
  • Monthly Bank Recs

Other :

  • Provide cover for AR
  • Ad hoc Finance tasks as required
  • Assist with Admin tasks as required


The ideal Purchase Ledger & Finance Assistant will have at least 2 years Purchase Ledger experience, have an understanding of foreign currency and in return will receive a salary between £28k -£30k + benefits.  Car Parking is provided.
