Providing wholesale stocking finance to UK car networks, the Wholesale Department for this dealership financing organisation is responsible for the support, financial analysis and management of wholesale risk.

With over 200 car dealer sites, network lending is in excess of £100m. Funding products such as new, used and demo vehicles are funded for various durations through a stocking system. 

The Wholesale Credit Analyst role is focused on the financial analysis of the dealer network to ensure that the balance between financial support and risk of losses is minimised and controlled. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of dealer files in line with current targets, profitability and trading. 
  • Maintain records to proactively ensure audited accounts are received on time.
  • Ensure lending reviews are submitted within the agreed timescales.
  • Following up any security issues so that legal contracts and security are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain and control processes for high-risk dealerships
  • Maintain spreadsheets and control records for dealerships placed into administration, ensuring that the facilities are wound down correctly, liaise with the administrators and arrange collection of vehicles. Provide final loss figures for the claim against security held or for write off.
  • Respond appropriately & quickly to problems such as unpaid debits or poor stock audits, decide what action needs to be taken to avoid or minimise any possible loss. 
  • Discuss with the dealers their credit limit requirements and respond to requests for credit limit amendments outside of the normal review process.
  • Analyse dealer financial accounts through internal systems for grading and recommend appropriate actions to improve the dealer’s grade.
  • Review monthly management figures provided by the dealerships, highlight any potential risk issues and recommend appropriate course of action.
  • Visiting dealers as and when required
  • Ownership and management of a portfolio of dealers
  • Monthly preparation for the portfolio review meeting with Wholesale Department Manager
  • Ensuring department procedures/controls remain up to date with a strict adherence to those procedures/controls.
  • Continually looking at opportunities to increase income for the department

Qualifications, skills and experience: 


  • Good PC skills including MS Excel, Word, Access
  • Experience of reading, analysing and interpreting financial accounts
  • Working knowledge of the credit environment
  • Experience of presenting data analysis and recommendations to stakeholders of all levels
